Kaifeng, 20 May, 2017- The opening ceremony for Shuanglou Agricultural Culture Square and follow-up conference of HENU Poverty Relief Project was successfully held in Shuanglou village by HENU and its co-organiser, IEC. Leading cadres of Kaifeng and Xiangfu Disrtict Governments, and of HENU, including Deputy Secretary of CPC Prof. Zhao Guoxiang, and representatives of related industries and charities attended this ceremony and conference. This ceremony and follow-up conference was conducted by IEC Deputy Secretary of CPC, Li Congguo, who is also the team leader in HENU Poverty Relief Project. A group of volunteers consisting of over 30 members of IEC Student’s Union helped to organise this conference.

First came an opening show jointly presented by IEC volunteers and pupils in Shuanglou, which builds up the interaction and friendship between them. Then, Li as the team leader made the opening speech. He affirmed the great achievements gained in this project, extended heartfelt appreciation to every attendee and further expressed his wishes for the long-term cooperation. This conference also marks the establishment of Shuanglou Cooperative with HENU fundings. During the conference, Prof. Zhao made a keynote speech on the strategic importance of HENU Poverty Relief Project and appealed that all team members in this project will work harder together, coordinating more thorough plans and applying more creative methods, to make poverty relief a long-term success.

This conference embodies the admirable spirits and strong determination of HENU members, and finally came to a perfect end with unveiling ceremony of Shuanglou Agricultural Culture Square.
