Kaifeng, September 19th, 2018. A delegation of 7 from Victoria University of Australia came to the International Education College (IEC) for a visit. The visitors included the Director of the Victoria International Cooperation Department, the Dean of the Business School, the Dean of the English School, and the Director of the International Cooperation School. The leadership of IEC met with the guests in the meeting room 302 of the Minglun Campus.
Ma Xiaoyong, Dean of IEC, first extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the college. He then informed the guests about the change of the middle-level leading cadres of Henan University and introduced the personnel changes and new division in IEC. He said that after years of cooperation, the two sides have established a good working relationship and have a solid working foundation. With the continuous deepening of cooperation, he believes that the future will definitely be upgraded to a higher level.
Rhys Williams, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Victoria University, thanked IEC for its warm and thoughtful arrangements. Later, he gave feedbacks on the summer study of the teachers in our school to study at Victoria University, and praised the performance of our teachers during the training period. During the meeting, Rhys Williams introduced a new mode of teaching recently conducted by Victoria University. The new mode of instruction requires students to complete a course in one month instead of attending multiple classes at the same time. He said that the new teaching model has a significant effect, and both the pass rate and satisfaction rate of students have improved significantly. The leadership in IEC spoke highly of the brave changes in the teaching model of the University of Victoria. The two sides had a full exchange and discussion.
During the talks, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the teacher dispatch, teaching quality, network equipment, teaching feedback, and class schedules of the cooperation projects, and reached a number of consensuses. Finally, the Australian side fully affirmed the language teaching team of our school and invited our teachers to participate in the annual ELICOS teaching exchange meeting.
After the talks, the members of the delegation, accompanied by the relevant leaders of IEC participated in the meeting of the students in the cooperation project.
